Description
A 1930’s factory with a classic ‘saw tooth’ roof along with tall clerestory windows facing south 6m above floor level. A terrific oportunity for adaptive re-use conversion to new 2 level 2, 3 and 4 bedrooom, very private and sunny warehouse apartments close to the city. The external walls and majority of the existing roof were kept, while cutting large openings to create ‘internal’ courtyard light wells.
”The design uses internal courtyards to ensure that interior spaces are naturally cross ventilated and capture sunlight. Residences feature private courtyards, covered balconies, hardwood timber floors, soaring ceilings and floating mezzanines. The project received the 2008 award for Excellence in Housing.” (platino.com)
